No christian band should ever arouse someone this much. I looked down and said, 'am I getting.. am I.. I think my cock is getting hard..' and I poked the crotch of my pants a bit and sat puzzling it.

A not so aesthetically pleasing camera phone picture of my Aphrodite statuette. She is my muse and inspiration and I love her very much.

Edit to add that I have placed a better picture in the comments!

[26 Dec 2009|11:47am] |

These cookies (someone else posted the recipe, so I won't duplicate it) were a new recipe for me this year, and they got raves from everybody that tried them! They're buttery, soft and just minty enough without knocking you over. I opted not to crush the peppermint on top, just to see how it went, and they were fine without it.

After flipping through Little Children by Tom Perrota again, a realization struck me.
Its a bit redundant to put "Little" before "Children" in the title of the novel, isn't it? Because by definition/connotation, children are supposed to be little.
So is Perrota trying to place emphasis on their youth/small size?
Or highlight with the qualifier that not all children are little...that adults can still be children?

| pear cake tatin |
[26 Dec 2009|12:07am] |

I'm a huge fan of apple cake tatin, but since it was Christmas I wanted to make it more seasonal and use pears, so here she is! The cake is pretty simple but very yummy and light, so you don't feel too weighed down after a huge Christmas feast!
Tons more pictures and info at my blog jonesing for...

Hello! I've posted comments, but haven't posted anything to introduce myself until now. I did make some improvised pumpkin bread pudding for thanksgiving, but it didn't look good (tasted fine though, as most bread puddings do). But today being Christmas with the bigger holiday meal at dinner, I had the oven and lunch.
This is an easy fix for when you want a holiday goody without pulling out the mixer: ( cut for two images ) I am a lazy cook. Hello *wavie* But a good oven should be used.

| It's a balmy Christmas night where I live, so here's a festive word for us all |
[25 Dec 2009|10:01pm] |
|
Christmas, n. [kris-muhs, krĭs-məs] -This holiday is both ancient and modern, religious and secular. It first appears in our language during the time of Old English, when it was simply called the Cristes mæsse 'Christ's mass or festival,' a mass being the religious service performed by a priest in front of (later involving) the community members. By late Middle English and beginning in at least the 14th century, the name for this holy day was shortened to the single word Cristemas. When the name Cristes was altered to Christ during the 15th century, it was also changed in the name of the holiday, resulting in Christmas. As for the infamous Xmas, this was in no way meant to delete the name of Jesus from the holiday. The earliest known use is recorded as Xres mæsse from the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, which dates from 1100, long before Cristes mæsse as the proper name had even been joined into one word. Xres was derived from Xr-, one of the two early ways of shortening Cristes (the other being Xp-)from Greek Christos. In actual Greek, Christos is written as Χριστός, so the Xr- (or Xp-) is just the first letter of his name. We don't see any form of Xmas as one word until the mid-1500's.
Side note: Merry Christmas to everyone here who celebrates it, and a belated Happy Hanukkah, Merry Yule, and early Happy Kwanzaa! I'm happy to report that I have the next week off, so I'll only be posting on occasion here. Everyone take care and enjoy the festive time of year!

"Far Away Christmas Blues"- Little Esther & Johnny Otis |
] |
As a last minute time-killer and something to add for desert for today's Christmas get-together with family I whipped up this recipe the night before. I got this recipe from an old copy of the 2007 "100 Best Cookies" issue of Better Homes and Gardens.
I thought this recipe was simple (and delicious!)and didn't call for too many fancy ingredients. I just had to buy the chocolate.

Ok, so it looks more like a Valentine's treat with the leftover heart sprinkles I decided to throw on there. But still cute nonetheless.
